
Next Steps in Knitting - The eM Hat
The eM hat is a perfect project for the beginner knitter. It is a free pattern that can be downloaded from Ravelry. The directions are written for baby, child and adult.
Instructor: Marlene Graves
Two 2-hour sessions: One week apart.
Supplies:
Baby 70 yards, child 90 yards, adult 110 yards of worsted weight yarn (the store model was made in Malabrigo Rios), US # 7 16 inch circular needles, US # 7 double pointed needles, stitch marker, and darning needle.
Skills required: Casting on and knowing how to do the knit and purl stitch.
Skills Learned: Reading a pattern, Knitting in the round, Using double pointed needles,
decreases, weaving in ends, and blocking.
Homework: Download and print a copy of the eM hat from Ravelry (click here to visit The eM Hat page on Ravelry). Have yarn and needles purchased before class begins.
Class Size: 5 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
