Learn the basics of crochet in this beginner-friendly workshop designed for all skill levels. Students will be guided step-by-step through foundational stitches and techniques while creating their own handmade piece to take home. All materials are included, making this the perfect introduction to crochet in a fun and supportive environment.

Instructor: Chelsi McDonald

1 - Two hour long session

Supplies:  All supplies will be provided but if students would like to bring their own they are more than welcome to.  The necessary supplies are: stitch marker, crochet hook, tapestry needle, small embroidery scissors

Skills required:  No skills required

Skills Learned:  Learn how to hold the hook and get comfortable tensioning the yarn; learn how to make a slip knot and how to crochet chains and single crochet stitches.

Homework:  No homework before the first class. If applicable, homework before the second class would be to work on getting comfortable with yarn tensioning and holding the hook, practice making stitches, work on having a good rhythm as you crochet. 

Class Size: 9 students maximum, 3 students minimum.  If the 3 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
