Aliso Creek Top by Irina Anikeeva
This is a beautiful light weight top for spring, summer or fall. It is one piece top down construction. The designer made hers in a sport weight wool. The models in the shop are made in Nepal by Pascuali and in Rowan Cotton Revive. This is a perfect project for the intermediate or advanced knitter.
Instructor: Marlene Graves
Three 2-hour sessions
Supplies: Aliso Creek Pattern, Sport Weight yarn - 750 - 1350 yds depending on your size. Needles: US 4/3.5mm 24-32 in. circular and 16 in. circular and a set of double pointed needles (or needle size required to make gauge).
US 3/3.25 24-32 in circular and 16 in. circular and a set of double pointed
needles (or one size down from needle used to obtain gauge).
Skills required: This is a perfect project for the advanced beginner to advanced knitter. Students should know how to cast on, bind off, knit in the round, increase, decrease and
make a gauge swatch.
Skills Learned: The designer has given options for a tubular cast on and for the tubular bind off. Both methods will be demonstrated. However, your preferred method of cast on and bind off will work well for this project. Other skills taught are cable cast on, working from a chart (optional), short rows, and Kitchener stitch.
Homework: Purchase pattern, yarn and needles. Make a gauge swatch using the needles
and yarn you plan to use for your project and bring it to the first class.
Class Size: 5 students maximum.
