
The Gretel Sock – A Socktober Holiday Adventure
We start with the instructions for a basic sock pattern, add stranded colorwork and you make the Gretel Sock! In the class, the student will learn how to strand the colorwork so that is stretches and allows for the elasticity of the sock. A basic knowledge of sock construction is required for this class.

Supplies:
WYS Class Yarn Kit
Gretel Christmas Motif Knitted Socks Pattern (free on Ravelry, click here to visit the Ravelry page for the pattern and download it)
US 1.5/2.25mm Double Pointed needles, or US 1.5/2.25mm 32” circular needle
Stitch Markers, Wool Needle
Optional US 2.5/3mm needles for looser cast on, optional stitch holder
Skills Required:
Must be comfortable with knitting socks with a top-down, heel flap & gusset construction, as this will not be taught in class.
Skills Learned:
Chart reading and carrying colors in stranded colorwork.
Class Size: 6 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
