NIXE: A shawl by Melanie Berg
Nixe is a beautiful shawl designed by Melanie Berg. This design uses the mosaic technique to add color and texture. Nixe is a perfect project for the advanced beginner and intermediate knitter. The store model was knitted with Pascuali Balayage and is a beautiful blend of 80% Alpaca and 20% wool.

2 - Two hour sessions
Supplies:
150 gr./ 575 yds. fingering weight yarn color A (3 skeins Balayage)
100 gr./ 383 yds. fingering weight yarn color B (2 skeins Balayage)
US 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle or size to obtain gauge
Nixe pattern purchased on Ravelry (click here to go to the pattern page on Ravelry)
Skills Required: Students must be comfortable with knit, purl, cast on, and bind off.
Skills Learned: Reading a pattern, following a graph, slip stitches, 3 stitch increase, and knit 2 together.
Homework: Purchase pattern, yarn, and needles and bring to the first class.
Class Size: 5 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
