Knit Companion

Join our Knit Companion class, where you will unlock the full potential of this powerful app! Learn to organize patterns, track projects, utilize handy features like magic markers, smart counters, and charts, and set up repeat reminders. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, this class will enhance your knitting experience and streamline your workflow. Bring your iPad or Android tablet and creativity as we explore tips and tricks to elevate your knitting game!

Instructor: Ruth Santos

1 - Two and a half hours long session

Supplies:  Your tablet. The instructor will use a TV screen to display her own device on screen to the class - bring your reading/eyeglasses if you use them.

Skills Required:  Basic knowledge of the Knit Companion app is beneficial but not required. Basic navigational knowledge of most apps on iOS or Android – open, close, tapping, swiping.

Skills Learned:  Students will learn how to organize patterns, track projects, use smart row counters and magic markers, set up repeats and reminders, and set up charts and keys (legends) for patterns.

Homework:  To get the most out of the class, you should have an annual paid subscription to Knit Companion installed and ready to use for class on your iPad or Android tablet. We will be using the same pattern in class to learn from. Please download the free pattern by Filipa Carneiro called “Cascata” from Ravelry – link here: Ravelry: Cascata pattern by Filipa Carneiro.  This short-sleeved is a great pattern to learn how the innovative features of Knit Companion work and hopefully, you’ll even plan to knit it after setting it up in your trusty app! Please have the pattern already downloaded to your Knit Companion app before class.

Class Size: 10 students maximum, 3 students minimum.  If the 3 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
