How to Knit Lace and Insert Beads
In this class you will learn to knit lace from written instructions and charts. We will be adding beads either glass or Swarovski crystals to your masterpiece. This scarf is knitted in two pieces and grafted together.

Supplies required: Yarn - One ball Rowan Kidsilk Haze or similar yarn, 230 yds. US 5 circular needles in a comfortable length for knitting flat or straight needles; yarn needle; stitch markers; 76 seed beads size 6/0 or 4mm in crystal or the equivalent (OPTIONAL: 240 6/0 seed beads TOTAL if you would like to make a tassel); pen and paper for taking notes. Students must purchase the pattern on Ravelry prior to the first class. This may be done in the shop and it will be printed at checkout. The pattern is Angel Pearls Beaded Scarf by Sivia Harding (click here to visit the Ravelry page for the pattern and purchase it). Seed beads may be purchased a craft store such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby or online. Crystals may be purchased online through Amazon.
Skills Required: Cast-on, knit, purl, SSK, K2tog, yarn over, and bind off.
Skills Learned: Lace knitting and adding beads, reading charts.
3 - Two hour sessions:
Class size: 6 students maximum, 3 students minimum. If the 3 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
