Have you ever wanted or needed, to just knit a sock tube, then worry about the heel later?  Or would you like the perfect mindless travel project for your summer adventures that you can turn into a sock later?  The afterthought heel is a way to add a heel into a tube.  This method will fit the foot of the intended recipient.  An afterthought heel can also be used to add a pocket into a garment.
