Brioche, worked in two colors, creates a squishy, stretchy, reversible fabric similar to a ribbing, but with a flair! Your color choice can make this cowl playful and bold, sophisticated, or soft and romantic. Many designers are using this stitch in some of their most popular patterns. This cowl will teach you the basic brioche stitch and add flair to your winter wardrobe. Instructor: Marlene Graves One 2-hour session: Thursday September 30th (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.) Supplies: Two - 50 g - 100 g skeins of worsted weight or DK weight yarn (1 skein main color, 1 skein contrast) the amount of yarn should be determined by how long you want your cowl, US 6 (4 mm) 24" circular needles and US 8 (5 mm) 24" circular needles, stitch marker to mark start of round. Skills Required: Cast-on, knit, purl, bind off, work in the round Class Size: 4 students maximum. *Please note: This class has preparation work that must be completed prior to the class meeting. Please use you favorite stretchy cast on to cast 116 stitches on your US 8 knitting needle using your main color. Place a marker and join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Knit 5 rounds and bring this to class, along with all your other class supplies including both knitting needles.
