
Beginning Rigid Heddle (Mondays, Oct. 30th, Nov. 6th, 13th, and 20th, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
This class will introduce students to the wonderful world of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. All students will learn basic weaving techniques and create a beautiful scarf to wear.

Four - 2 1/2 hour sessions: Mondays, October 30th, November 6th, 13th, and 20th (6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.)
Supplies: Three solid colors of worsted weight wool of equal color value (200 yards of each), scissors, tape measure, darning needle, and a rigid heddle loom.
*Loaner looms are available for use from Needles in the Haymarket. Students will have the opportunity to purchase their loaner loom if they desire after class at a 10% discount (regular price $259, student price $233.10).
Skills required: None
Skills Learned: Students will learn the geography of the loom, how to calculate the amount of yarn needed, how to select appropriate yarn for a project, and how to dress the loom. Students will also learn finishing techniques for the beginning and ending edges and learn to weave.
Class Size: 4 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
