Take your brioche skills a little further with this three session shawl class. "All About That Brioche" by Lisa Hannes is a triangular shawl that features a mix of garter stitch and brioche worked in two colors. Instructor: Marlene Graves Three sessions: Wednesdays, October 6th (10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.), October 20th (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.), and October 27th (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) Supplies: Download "All About That Brioche" by Lisa Hannes from Ravelry prior to class, 2 - 100 g skeins of fingering weight yarn (1 skein main color, 1 skein contrasting color), US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle 32 inches long. Skills Required: Cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, k2tog, kfb, pfb, m1L, and experience using the brioche stitch (brk, brp, sl1yo) Class Overview: Session 1 - Getting started: A short 30 - 45 minute class to get you started on the beginning garter stitch. We will review k2tog, kfb, pfb, and m1L. You will then have two weeks to reach the point where we start the brioche stitch. Session 2: We will review the brioche stitch while reading the pattern both written and charted and learn the technique of working brioche flat and increasing and decreasing the brioche stitch. You will then have 1 week to finish the first section of brioche. Session 3: We will begin the color change of the second band of the brioche stitch. This class will take 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how comfortable you are with making the color change. Class Size: 4 students maximum. 2 students minimum.
