Join us to make a Beaded Flower and Butterfly while learning the basics of Needle Tatting! You will learn the “double stitch” (the only stitch in tatting), how to make picots, join your work, add beads, and hide your ends to finish your work! Instructor: Bonnie Swank One 3-hour session: Saturday, March 18th 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Supplies Required: Tatting Needle #5 with needle threader (sold together), crochet cotton size 20 or 10 - OR- pearl cotton size 5 or 8 in a solid light color, small crochet hook, and a small sharp pair of scissors. Skills Required: An open mind to learn something new! Skills Learned: How to make a double stitch and reverse your work, how to make rings and chains using the ball and chain method, how to make picots both decorative and joining, how to add pre-strung beads at picot, how to join your work, and how to hide your ends to finish your work. Homework: There is no homework, however, if you are left-handed, please let the shop know, as the instructor will bring special instructions for left-handed tatters. Class Size: 6 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date. This class is "mask optional".
