
DRK Everyday Socks or Bear Paw Socks (Tues., Oct. 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Andrea Mowry has great sock patterns! Let's knit some! Students will chose either the DRK Everyday Socks pattern or the Bear Paw Socks pattern.

Tuesdays October 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Supplies:
Students must purchase either the DRK Everyday Socks pattern or the Bear Paw Socks pattern (both by Andrea Mowry/Drea Renee Knits) and print or download to a device and bring it to class.
For DRK Everyday Socks: 100g of fingering weight sock yarn; either 100g of 1 color or 80g of a main color and 20g of a contrasting color. 32" US size 1 (2.25 mm) circular needle or whatever size you need to get a gauge of 8 - 9 sts/1" in k2, p2 ribbing in the round.
For Bear Paw Socks (Fingering weight held double): 200g of fingering weight sock yarn; either 200g of 1 color or 160g of a main color and 40g of a contrasting color.
For Bear Paw Socks (Single Strand of DK weight): 170g of DK weight sock yarn; either 170g of 1 color or 135g of a main color and 35g of a contrasting color.
For Bear Paw Socks (both versions): 32" US size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle or whatever size you need to get a gauge of 6.25 sts/1" in k2, p2 ribbing in the round.
If you would like to switch to another method of knitting in the round after the cast on, bring your other needles (i.e. double pointed needles or 9" circular needle). The cast on and first few rounds must be done magic loop; then you can switch if you like. Also bring tapestry needles, stitch markers, and any other knitting notions you like.
Skills Required:
Knit, purl, ssk, k2tog, p2tog, bind off, and most importantly must know how to use the magic loop method of working in the round; we will not be teaching this method in class.
Skills to be learned:
Turkish cast-on, make 1 left (M1L), make 1 right (M1R), make 1 left purl (M1LP), make 1 right purl (M1RP), Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off and more!
Class Size: 6 students maximum, 2 students minimum. If the 2 student minimum is not met, Needles in the Haymarket can either refund the class or move the student to a class scheduled at a later date.
This class is "mask optional".
